Unlike other business metrics, when it comes to energy, there are no numbers in which you can track your success and measure your ROI. While this may deter some from trying to continuously exude energy, maintaining high-levels will take you far.

What energy really boils down to is passion. Regardless of your current situation, you have two choices—you can either be the victim or you can choose to win. Having a true passion for your products and services will help you to not only maintain a winning attitude, but ensure that your energy comes from a natural place of authenticity.

At the end of the day, you won’t find energy in motivational speeches. It comes from what you truly believe in and where your passion aligns. If you’re struggling to discover your energy, you have to take it back to your beliefs, your why. Your why can help you to hone in on your passion, and in turn find your energy.

Ways to Increase Energy

Energy starts as soon as you wake up. While it’s tempting, try to avoid hitting the snooze button so you’re forced to start your day right then and there. Working out in the morning has a drastic effect on your energy, health, and ability to focus throughout the day. In addition, eating right is key. Feeding your body, mind, and spirit will give you that energy and passion that you need to fuel you doing the workday.

Energy is Contagious

Regardless of your title, energy is important in the workplace. Your coworkers feed off of it. That being said, overdo it. Exaggerate both your level of enthusiasm and passion that you possess. Energy is contagious, and overdoing it will help your team not only truly feel your energy, but also mirror theirs off of yours.

In addition, energy can come in handy during a sales call. If you’re exuding high-energy, you’ll steer the call in the right direction, and compel the prospect to listen. Not only will your energy resonate, but your passion will shine through, which can be enough to convince the prospect to move forward with the purchase.
