How has American Lifestyle helped Lyon market herself?

When Lyon first began sending out American Lifestyle magazine, a good friend of hers connected with one of the stories. “I have a dear friend who when I first started sending the magazine was fascinated with one of the stories. So, I’m meeting her for happy hour and she’s bringing some of her friends who I have not met. And she says, ‘I’m bringing some magazines because I want them to see this article.’”

People notice and connect to the stories within the magazine and as a result, they share with their friends. This links the content back to Lyon’s business, keeping her top of mind.

For Lyon, this social event was a subtle way to talk business, and connect with potential clients. “I got to bring the magazines, socialize, and at the same time say ‘oh look, I’m [an agent], and this is my magazine, and it went home with them.”

As for the outcome? Lyon was able to secure future business with both of the women.
