ReminderMedia Participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Month with “Pink Out” Day

Inspired by the Pink Glove Dance, ReminderMedia spread breast cancer education and awareness across the workplace

During the month of October, the employees at ReminderMedia joined the national campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer research and education. Informative articles like “Debunking Breast Cancer Myths” and “Environmental and Lifestyle Risk Factors for Breast Cancer” could be found around the office to get the staff to think about the topic and engage in conversations to take preventative steps. On Friday, October 26, ReminderMedia hosted a Pink Out Day where team members donned pink attire and pink vinyl gloves to unite behind the cause.

The pink medical gloves supported the Pink Glove Dance, a nationwide movement that was featured in the September/December 2012 issue of American Lifestyle magazine. What began as Medline‘s flagship campaign intended to change the momentum of breast cancer education and awareness across the healthcare industry, has developed into a viral dance competition where groups of people record choreographed dance routines at their workplace—whether it be at healthcare facilities, schools, or corporations—and post the videos online for voting. Although the winning top three videos score donations to the breast cancer foundations of their choice, the overall purpose of these videos is to engage people in the discussion of education and awareness.

The employees of ReminderMedia encourage everyone to vote for their favorite Pink Glove Dance videos, share the message with friends and family, and join in the discussion of breast cancer research and education.
